Be Someone 02:41
i made up my mind after years of misuse i've spun out i'm strung out with nothing to lose i spent all my days living in my dreams i guess i'm just not what i've wanted to be and i spent all my nights waiting for the sun fighting to wake up and be someone be someone be someone i stopped sitting around and failing class and i planned my route, i found my path if it's ever too much, i'm only a phone call away only a phone call away so i called back home and told them i'm done i saved up, i packed up for this i will run to the end of the road till i find the coast a new night, a new town, i've found my home do you know this means so much to me cause i am where i need to be and i know that this is truly me and i'll go back there eventually i stopped sitting around and failing class and i plotted my route, i found my path if it's ever too much, i'm only a phone call away only a phone call away so let's go to the end of the road we'll find the coast a new night, a new town, we'll call this home

i spend my nights awake just dreaming of the next year where i'll be safe and i'll be sound anywhere but here take a look inside and see how much i've changed but when the day is done i swear i'm still the same the night grows old and i'm still just the same kid who wishes on lights and takes it on the chin fighting for my friends and shooting for the stars i always come up short, but i'm never that far well i awoke to find pins in my hand lights in my eyes got me too weak to stand i need a place for my thoughts to hide a permanent head for my mind to reside so i pen these thoughts to tell you how i've been getting by up until now i'm down on my luck, but i'm still here so pick me up and we'll make it through another year my heart guides; i close my eyes it's me and the road and in the moment i know i'm already home so call my friends and tell them that i'm never really alone.

lets just melt into the sheets forget our plans made for the week watch the sunset from my window a thousand shades of red and pink and when that sunset burns away the moon arrives to end the day our bodies soaked in this vivid light we are no strangers to this sight tonight's the night that we make this forever we'll get there however we can i'll give you the world if you give me your heart i know what we got is a work, a work of art and it wasn't quite the morning when we woke up it was storming we watched the rain and loved its sound we watched the drops as it hit the ground and when we finally saw the sun the blankets knew that we were one can we stay like this will you be the one? you're the reason that my heart keeps beating everyday i'll keep breathing if you keep believing in this love

Sunday came and went i rest against the windowpane and head back home It was never my intent To leave you at the end of the day But I've got rent to pay Oh, your hair's in my bed Your voice in my head Telling me to sleep but I just write of you instead This midwestern love has kept me above the water and I can't see the bottom 'Cause all I need is just a little bit of time To figure out exactly where I'm going and why But in the meantime I'll just keep on writing lines And telling stories of this Indiana life The leaves turn as the temperature drops drinking up on a small town rooftop October air and this affair Take me to a place that's perfect and rare Oh, this semester's been rough But we've still been tough I know that we'll get there if we want this enough It's just a matter of time Before I scale the highway again

i saw that bird again today  it sang a lovely song to me i think it knows the way to happiness i'll listen carefully it, it told me sing, it told me to fly so i smiled and opened up the sky i went sailing above the trees  and the streets that we lived on the other day and i'm sorry about the rest of you the ground got the best of you now the best of you now i kept the secret safe in the safest place i knew i buried it underground and then the grass grew  up, high towards to sky, longing to fly the grass would finally know what it's like to be alive let's go sailing above the trees  and the streets that we lived on the other day and i'm sorry about the rest of you the ground got the best of you now the best of you now open your eyes, learn how to fly let the wind take you, let them all lie
